Lord of Ultima is a new game from EA Games which is free to play online. Some upgrades are available for a small fee.

Set in the mid-evil times, Lord of Ultima is a real time online game requiring nothing more advanced then an internet connection, a web browser and a lot of patience.

Free Online Game with Optional Extras

Lord of Ultima, by EA Games, is an online RPG game (Role Playing Game) was released to the general public in March of 2010. The game requires a standard browser and works equally well in Internet Explorer and Firefox. Set in the land of Caledonia, the player becomes the owner of a city in Caledonia which they build from the ground up. During this process, money is earned, resources are produced, and buildings are constructed.

The game play experience is somewhat different then many games, as all actions within the online game happen in real time. If the owner of a city chooses to construct a building that will take 8 hours to build, the building actually takes 8 hours to appear and become functional. There are optional upgrades, available at a cost which allow for faster construction, faster acquisition of resources, and expanded building and recruiting queues.

Online Game Play - Opening a EA Games/Lord of Ultima Account

Once the account holder obtains a status of Earl, it is possible to attack other cities with the goal of plundering resources or seizing other cities. For the less aggressive players, it is possible to found cities in empty areas or attack assorted "Boss" creatures, including Dragons and Dungeons.

As the player continues through the game, they can complete quests to receive rewards and recognitions, join alliances for protection, and view their standings in terms of an assigned city score and a rank within the game.

Free Online Game Evaluation

Lord of Ultima is an addicting game. Initial online game play moves fast, limited only by the speed of acquiring resources. New players are protected from attack for one full week to allow them time to establish and defend their city. After the one week grace period, cities can be plundered, but not attacked unless they have a castle.

After the first few weeks of play, resources are unlikely to be an issue, and the player will want to build additional cities, either through attack of other players or settling unclaimed land. Dedicated online players will wish to check their accounts and enter construction and recruitment orders throughout the day or purchase the in game upgrades to assign building ministers and recruitment ministers to perform these tasks when the player is offline.

Lord of Ultima - Free Computer Game

EA Games recently released Lord Of Ultima, which is a free online game. System requirements are minimal, and play is addicting. The real time development of cities means that players can log in and set actions in motion before work and see results when they get home.
